Thanksgiving Handprint Craft

Today we did a Thanksgiving craft. I traced each of the kid's hands onto construction paper. Before we began the craft, I talked to the kids about Thanksgiving and being thankful for the things we have in our life. So with that information in their heads, I then asked each child what they were thankful for and wrote it on each finger of the hand cut out. Then I had them glue their hands to the paper plates. I then took marker and wrote their name and age on the middle of the hand. Add the eye and gobbler part of the turkey. Is that what that thing is called? I don't know, but that is what I choose to call it.

I will probably go ahead and add some string to the top of the plate, so when they take it home to their parents, it can be hung up.

That's it! Super easy and great way to get the kids talking and thinking about Thanksgiving and being thankful!

Carrot Craft!

This week we are learning about fruit and vegetables during preschool time. Yesterday we discussed fruit and today was vegetables. For craft, the kids painted with straws. I just free-handed cut the shape of a carrot, gave them each a straw and small cuup of orange paint. Oh, they also glued on the green stems themselves. They really liked this and thought it was kind of crazy to paint with straws!

Corn Craft

This craft was a lot of fun!

The night before, I popped a bag of popcorn. I seperated the popcorn into 4 different piles. I took four seperate plastic grocery bags and put each pile in a bag. I then added red paint to one bag, orange to another, yellow and then brown. I then twisted the grocery bag at the top and shook! The paint got all over the popcorn. I then laid each pile of popcorn onto newspaper to dry overnight (although I think wax paper would work better).

The next day, the kids were really amazed at the different color popcorn and were so excited that they got to glue it on their corn. I got the corn cut out from http://www.makinglearningfun.com
